Tantus: I am surprised Manon, it's taken till 2017 for you to encounter a shemale-panther!
Hah! Well I have been sick and tired of the SL panther woman band play for years so I have stayed away, hidden in the darkest corners of SL Gor with a single roleplay partner and the rare encounter of strangers. I have seen shemale panther women before, but usually I spot them from a mile away and have been successful in finding important scenes I simply had to play out somewhere else. This time I was busy with a script or some Blender file or something so when someone walked up and joined a scene I just noticed a post popping up on my screen and so I responded. Several posts later I bothered to cam over just to be able to see the character from afar and it was not until quite a while later I actually zoomed in to see details like carried weapons and such and apparently an attached cock lol.
What disappointed me...hmm. Well the visuals itself did not disturb me much really. After soon 10 years in SL the sight of a cock likely wont disturb me no matter where its attached. The unsolicited offers of rl pics are probably what comes closest to being disturbing in that regard but they mostly vary from mildly annoying to quite entertaining. But that's another topic
I think my disappointment came from the fact I was so excited to meet a stranger who seemed to portray an interesting character, who seemed friendly in im, and who could roleplay - I mean portray a believable character, build up a scene with just enough detail to have it speak to me and who was not in any way offended by my character being the grumpy half insane groot she is, but instead build the story around it with tension and potential ic disaster hovering in the horizon - for either of the characters. She seemed well within the restraints of the Gor genre and so to me for a fleeting moment it looked like encountering strangers panther woman portrayal was not entirely hopeless after all.
When I saw that damn cock it all shattered because (as you mentioned too Tantus) I am so used to that simple fact that if you notice one strange thing about a character, it's a matter of minutes before it escalates. So I just knew it could not end well. All that said though nothing out of Gor happened in the roleplay and although I was annoyed from that moment on, I must admit I had a good time. She/he stayed in role and perhaps he sensed I was not interested in that twist.
In general it's my experience that much good can come from keeping an open mind approach. There ARE limits though. If the twist came up in roleplay I would only consider letting my character react to it IC if I am already very invested in the story and the other typist proved he is a decent writer and wanted to create a story with me not just go for the pixel sex shit. Now how "Night", my character would respond to such a revelation...hmm. As always with her I am not entirely sure, but considering her state of mind lately I don't think it would be healthy for the other character.
Now poison slaves... I haven't met one in years! Are they still around? I think if I met one IC I would steal her and cage her and travel Gor showing her off like some strange 1800 circus animal.
"STRAIGHT from the dark exotic slave houses of the Southern Sandy Jewel they call Tor, Today I BRING YOU...a RARITY...a SENSATION. A ONCE in a LIFETIME...Poison Bitch! Come poke her with a stick if you dare! Look in her cold eyes. The seductress could KILL you with a kiss. Bread purely for cold bloded MURRDERRRR. Better stay back from the cage... unless you are...curious hmmm? ONLY three copper bits to lay your eyes upon this incredibly rare and stunningly beautiful creature! ONLY TWO copper tarsks if there's a man around COURAGEOUS enough to have her suck him dry. Hah!"
Yea id have fun
Sadly they rarely let you know they are poisonous in actual roleplay and of course there's the mandatory OOC drama to take into consideration. It always comes up as some OOC comment or as a screamed statement in their profile.
Actually out of curiosity are the poison slaves in the books poisonous or venomous?
