I will collaborate with you .. you give me and the other Gorean Sim owners 75% of the money you make selling weapons to use in our sims, that we pay for and make no financial benefit from.. thats the collaboration I want from weapons makers...
Want time to roleplay without worrying about the meter weapons and 4 m tall ballista of death?
Make your sim meterless..
Sorry but you come off as wanting everything given to you without effort on your part..
You want a sim of your own, you want to have all the fun of combat, you want everyone only build the weapons that you want, you don't want to have to look at what they build to make sure it's right, and now you want them to pay you for the privilege of giving you something to play with? ..
I have owned a sim for 3 years of more now, during that time hundreds of people have contributed hours and hours of their time and skills in supporting the development of the environment through buildings, scripting, organising events IC and OOC, teaching and training ohers in RP techniques and combat andof course.. weapons testing.
Even money donated to the sim goes to support prize money for dance events, kaissa championships, paying DJ's for OOC parties.
I do get pissed off when I see people making enormous amounts of money and running a business based on the back off our sims and communities, especially when their "products" have an impact on the efforts of others. I know one weapons maker who specialises in GOR weapons.. he/she was telling me he had 750,000 Lindens and was complaining that the Lindens where unfair, because when he converted his lindens back to US dollars he lost out on the rate conversion. This guy is making upwards of $3,000 per month and has been for the 2 years I have known him.
I could level the same accusations at other "manufacturers" of things in SL... clothes, collars, hair products even skins.. but they dont impact my sim or require me to police what they make.
Now its unfair to single out Rhubardin, but a little more "responsiblity" has to be shown by weapons makers and they can stop this quest for making money by "pushing the boundaries" of what a weapon can do for no other reason than financial gain.
If they are purely doing this for fun.. sell your weapons at say 10L like Jaraziah did..she made a great bow, spear, sword for newbies and again many others have made swords, shields etc for free which I have put out in sims for people to use.
and finally, meterless combat... nahhhh... i was never a HTML role player, it doesnt appeal to me and to be honest, I find the way it is spoken about by some as an elitist form of Role Play off putting to be honest.
I can stimulate my brain without weapons, but on ocassions I do like the free form spontaneity of a weapons based combat environment, I may be old and grumpy at times.. but the kid in me loves to recreate and experience the "space invader" aspects of my youth.. now that dates me
