Most furries aren't in the forms of those species, nor wish to play such. I played in a BTB sim a while back and had to be human, and it didn't last too long with me unfortunately. I love the world and wish to play in it some people like to add their own spice to it.

I have met some folks in SL who look at the furry community as more than just putting on a furry avatar: its a lifestyle, a way of thinking and living by taking away the what they feel constrains people from getting past the superficiality of human beauty. So for them to RP in a traditional gor sim would be forcing them to don a human avatar.

You are correct. It's like taking away an identity in a sense. Plus you can portray so many emotions with a tail swish or ear flick. It's just fun.
