Valkyrie Forest – Northern Forests Continent 18 sims strong

This isn't an environment I would enjoy but it is a very notable accomplishment. I wish you the best of luck with it going forward. I also think it could provide some interesting RP opportunities with this much SL land mass.

A few questions out of curiosity:
Do all the sims have similar/compatible rules?
Are they all managed jointly or does each sim owner still maintain complete control?

thank you for the encouragement kaitlin. we have rules that are similar but we are also working on a continental set of rules. we all agree a common set of rules for the entire continent is desired, but i can't tell you yet if all the specific rules will be agreed upon by all sims. we are all independent sim owners (like states), but we share a common vision and a northern theme. also, i would rather we were a btb continent but i think it would be much more difficult to realistically execute something so large a scale as ours. interestingly enough tho, i was contacted by a party that wants to join with us and they are planning a btb northern sim. i've included the im that just reached me below (the name has been hidden):

Right now, a friend and I are making arrangements to purchase a new sim around the 8th of July. I am going to move my tribe there and he is going to try to start a small Torvaldsland fishing/hunting/trading village. Niether of us plans for anything massive. I am running a maximum of a dozen girls, plus or minus as we grow. BTB and his portion will be small too, but BTB. I always find it funny how on some GE sims they're all stuck up about the "No Female Warriors!" - as in: "No Fighting Female Red Castes allowed", while they've got all the other stuff running around.

Seriously who gives a fuck. The "no stilleto heels" thing is also ridiculous. Demon Hunters in Diablo3 have stilleto heels can run and fight and tumble like the best.

oh, i found your post funny... and i see your point... kinda like the the fat lady ordering 2 dozen donuts to eat on the spot and "oh, a diet coke too, please"... or putting out a forest fire with a squirt gun. but you'll never get me to fight in stilleto heels if i don't hafta... i can't even dance in heels for more than 30 minutes on weekends real life. those heels come off. those suckers hurt dood.

Else, I thought that Woodhaven was a BTB sim, it's why I was a bit surprise when you said that this sim joined a GE continent, it's all. Maybe I confuse with another sim of similar name, though.

Just so there is no more confusion I DID come visit the continent with my Alt it is NOT the same Woodhaven There is apparently a BtB and GE sim

I have played in the old Gorean continent sim and some other large sims. It was kind of cool, those large landmasses. Some more GE, some less (it was mostly before the term started getting used, before the split). Congrats and good luck on the project.

I cannot say that I find anything inherently wrong with GE gor. But it isn't my thing either. Not primarily over the femlaw thing. More over the general cultural thing. Recent pure GE sims always seemed somewhat hard to immerse myself in and didn't strike me as 'very gorean' in feel, and mostly focussed on combat.

I look forward to seeing the continent and seeing it grow. Being able to WALK from a village to a town is exciting.

I do have to agree that some people take GE to mean they can do anything and still call it gor. (Best example was a sim went steampunk and still claimed to be GE gor.)

Of course I have a question. Female mercenaries?

hello echo... it's true, some ge regions (outside our continent) take a lot of liberties... i think the northern forest continent overall is pretty good about sticking to the principles of gor. unfortunately, yes, we do have female mercenaries and they were not really in the books... that's why i miss tor mark fell so much and wish i could have that continent... but...

but... some bragging rights here... today's traffic stats for valkyrie forest was over 21,000 and we've been getting over 26,000 or more. type in ' panthers ' in sl search and valkyrie forest is on top and number 1 for all panther sims... type in outlaw or gorean and we're usually near the top... and yes, yes, yes... we're in the top 33 combat sims on the gm meter website, too... those are the advantages of being ge vs. btb... and if you go to the alika center in gimli, there's a big map of gor on the ground and surprise! valkyrie forest is located in the far north of the northern forest region close to torvaldsland! so we willed outselves into existence, we're on the btb maps now, woot!

ok, hose me down please. i'm so full of myself. but i'm really proud of my sim, and the continent, and the hard work of so many people.... and take heart in knowing, there aren't too many steampunk female mercs running around our continent...
