Tried again, and I stayed in and logged out naturally, weird.

It's technically impossible to write software that causes your machine to switch off or disconnect it's power. So I'd be hardpressed to believe the repair tool would fix the issue. I'm assuming that the "maxfps" setting is simply causing your machine to work less, thus not get overheated as fast... so you can stay logged in longer before it crashes again.

Yeah, I'm with Anarch on this. You really need to run a stress test on your computer and see if it's overheating.
