Class Help/Suggestions

Postby Crack and Thump » Wed Jan 18, 2012 4:31 pm

I am currently running a Sith Inquisitor and I took the road of a Madness Sorcerer.

Can any of you add your thoughts on the link (the first entry) that I have provided at the bottom? As in if you think this is a good model to follow or if you have better suggestions.

I did Flashpoint - Hammer Station with some guys last night and the one that seemed to know the most suggested that I try healing because my dps skills aren't all that but ok :( .
I hate him . . .

I don't want to heal. That is like the hardest thing ever.

Just don't suggest not using my Whirlwind. That is like my police chokehold.

Well, what exactly is the problem?

I happen to play a Sith Sorcerer myself, although she's healing spec.
This isn't fucking Survivor. We aren't a tribe.

If I won't put up with an in-character owner trying to control my OOC life, what makes you think I'll put up with you trying to do that?

I thought I was doing pretty well but I guess not so much.

I am thinking that I need a better rotation. Kinda like what I had for my DK in WoW. I had two. One for PvE and another for PvP. If I am remembering correctly, they all began with heartstrike. :D

@C&T Screw 'em do you want you like to do in game. What might be happening if these were people you just met or haven't played with regularly you may not have done as well as you normally do. I found that the case (i.e. performance anxiety) but once I got more comfortable with the person and how they played I did better.

@Ella - I totally suffer from wanting to please the group that I am running with. I am the first one to raise my hand and say "I follow orders well!!" In one of my other guilds that I truly enjoyed being in during my WoW days, the elders forced me to tank on one toon and then heal on another, a few times. I was a wreck but they were so patient and explained what I did wrong and what I did right. I was not that comfortable with any other groups.

In SWTOR, it is easier for me to start a groupor ask to join one in general chat for heroics and Flashpoints. People just seem nicer or better at holding their tongues.

I can't access the link right now C&T because swtor is down, but I think I read somewhere that Madness was good for a pvper. But if you do not want to heal, look for builds that use the lightning Tree and maybe some from healing and one maybe from Madness. Haha maybe your link does that.

http://www.sithinquisitors.com/ might be a good website for you to check out. Lots of information on the class.

I have found http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=856 to be fairly accurate in assessment of skills/builds.

I am a sorc healing build so unfortunately not going to be much help past that link with regard to dps spec.

Oh, and completely unrelated - I like this link for a signature builder: http://www.enjin.com/swtor-signature-generator

The rotation that I follow as a healing spec Sorc (because I do end up DPSing quite a bit) is basically Shock, Force Lightning, and Lightning Strike. That's single target. For 2+ mobs, it's just Force Storm, Force Storm, Force Storm.

I'm sort of a balance between the healing tree and the lightning tree with just a bit more points spent towards the healing tree, I've got just enough I think to max out my healing tree by the time I hit 50 and will have levelled half of the lightning tree. So far I've found it works pretty well as I can lay out some heavy healing pretty fast but also do a lot of damage with my lightning, I do plan to however probably re roll and take off the fast tick point bonus from affliction to make it so that I don't increase my threat presence as much when healing... I didn't get that skill before and I'm getting swarmed by mobs a lot.
