As for the topic, well I don't care if the player is male, female, herm, or tetrasexual. I'm interested in the character being played, and if you are mature, intelligent, and basically not an OOC asshat.

I really do not care if the person behind the screen is a man, woman, etc, and I do get into the role play and the character. For me, it is the writing that draws me into the experience. Can you sometimes tell as others have said here if someone is not the gender being played in the role play? Yep, possibly, and it's funny now because I have had several male friends of mine get asked if they are women. Targayen told that he was once, and I just laughed at that.

Either way, if people do not want to role play with gender benders, for whatever reasons those are, that is their prerogative. I figure it is as fair as anyone that doesn't give a shit about the gender behind the character, or even the person doing the gender bending. If people do not mind it, cool deal, obviously, as well.

For me, it's about the RP, not a contest about who can play a better bit of pixels with a dick, or tits and ass for the female variation of said pixels ..whatever their gender is behind the screen.

If I get involved in a long term storyline with someone, I prefer that it is a man RPing as a man, or it is a woman RPing as a woman. Its simply my preference.

Will I rp with a gender bender? Of course I will. Does that mean that I demand OOC information from someone? Of course not. Its merely a preference.

When I get involved in long term storylines with people, we tend to form a friendship and we might talk on Skype, share emails, share photos of vacations (there's a certain dutch person that I'm SO demanding cruise photos from!) and all of those things that friends do. If I'm RPing with a woman, and we develop an OOC friendship, we do have a dynamic as well. And those OOC friendships, I'm not developing that OOC friendship with a character, I'm developing it with a person. And that person to me does have a gender, and the gender they choose to tell me that they are does dictate the kind of friendship that I will have with them.

Do I behave flirty OOCly to men? You betcha. Would I flirt with a woman? Perhaps in a different way than I would a man, but generally no, I would not flirt with a woman. Would I tell a man about my girltime cramps? HELL no. Would I tell a woman? You betcha.

I think this is why I don't really care, now that I read it.

If I have a friend, male or female, they're a friend - and what they're packing between their legs has nothing to do with what I will or will not share with them (or whether I will or will not playfully flirt with them). I guess it maybe comes from growing up around lots of androgynous and/or queer folk.

So no. I don't prefer playing with GBK's. I don't prefer playing with BBK's. My preferences depend on the RP, the story, and my enjoyment of it.

I have pointed my sword in Gor at real men in Gor and they've cowered in fear of dying before my character.

I have spat at real men in Gor and they've refused to say anything and simply went about their business.

Again... you real men are pansies.

I have more brotherly attachment to male characters who are played by women. I go to the tavern and sit at table and laugh and enjoy time with male characters played by women.

I think it's because most real men are idiots who didn't take the time to let the beginning of Tarnsman of Gor really sink in their heads.

As far as fighting goes, real men forget the concept of offering quarter and yielding.

As far as fucking goes, real men forget that they don't need to collar every single one of them.

As far as protection goes, real men often sit there and stare with that "duhhhh" face and try to IM the offender while fake men pull the fucking sword and cut the bastard down like a GOREAN MAN FUCKING WOULD!

...I am in agreement with some of Harlequin's posts. Gor is lacking a lot of harshness and aggression. Because real men need to drop their balls, grab their cocks and butt-rape each other so they learn what brotherhood is all about again, apparently.

I see very little in the way of actual brotherhood these days. Everyone's out to stroke their own ego. (I've been one of these, and recently I've taken measures to throttle that back and just be another face in the crowd with my RP.) Everyone's after some kind of rank. Everyone's after some kind of attention that sets them above the rest without any real earning.

So, yeah! I - a real man - prefer fake men in Gor over other real men, because most real men are pansies!
