So..
Lets imagine I buy a sim. I make it gorean X city. I call myself Ubara of it. I may be ubara!

I buy some silks (ugh) or camisk and tada! I may go play a slave!

I buy some robes of concealment, put it on face and.. tada! I go Free woman!

I add some pencils in my bag and... here she is Lady Scribe!

I replace pencils with rolls and bread... and here she is fiesty baker lady.

I buy e-peen, change display name at John, wear some male clothes... and here is.. warrior/scribe/peasant guy.


I buy green dress and ........ gah.. no i can not be a physcian at gor..

Same goes with black caste.

Today I see on this very board that if i dont know/rp at certain sim with certain players I can not claim myself being an alar ( I know Anarch, you didnt mean it 100% serious)

But it made me wonder.
In the world where I may be even an Ubara... I can not play physician... nor black caste member without being laughed at.

I see it wrong?

Some will force you to be a trained healer by the PCoG group. Others will have their own training programs... And others wont care.

Again, it's going to depend on the sim you're on. Sims have a right to make whatever requirements they want to for people to play whatever Caste, as long as they state them up front. Sim owners' money, not ours.

This is WHAT I found kinda silly...


So if i made a kajira/warrior/freewoman/whatever school and will claim no one is good kajira/warrior/freewoman/whatever without my school certificate... all will laugh their asses at me, right?

So why we accept something like this in physicians and killers case?

If someone wanna go play one of those roles.. they should be allowed not matter how much certificates they have or not. RP and roleplayers will verify such person, if she/he is able to handle such role. Not being member of certain groups (ooc) or knowing certain avatars.

Also this attitude creates preferential groups in Gor not to mention that if a person decides to take on a role his/her credibility will be evident sooner or later.

Well, in the case of the Assassin's Caste, the organization was created because there was a need for it to happen.

I have no idea how the Physicians' Caste group got started, but it has no jurisdiction over anyone, and openly states this. If a sim chooses to make it so that you have to get "ceritfication" from that group, that's their right and choice.

I think that most sims do not require it, however. You just have to get admitted to the Caste by their Head of Caste or council, whichever they have (which is completely in-line with the books, as you could not practice as a Physician in a city without permission).

Screw 'em. Play whichever role you want. I don't acknowledge the Green or the Black OOC Mafias of SL Gor. LOL

The idea of having an OOC "Regulating Group" is beyond silly and obtrusive to me. Ignore them, play what you want, enjoy yourself and hopefully others will follow suit.
