Captain America

Postby Ceri the Urt » Mon Jul 25, 2011 9:36 am

Sooo this weekend Mal and I went and saw Captain America.

It was decent. Not my favorite of the Marvel comics but not the worst one either. The setting was interesting, the storyline was pretty decent.

However (Don't read if you are going to see the movie and don't want to know what happens):
Prime Bbcode Spoiler Show Prime Bbcode Spoiler:
The villains makeup was AWFUL. It was the one part of the movie that bummed me. Everything else seemed pretty realistic, and then in walks the red skeleton dude and eh...it just wasn't done well. he reminded me of Skeletor from He man/She ra...whichever show had him on. I also thought then laser poofing guns was kind lame. The good guys are using bullets and the bad guys using insta poofing killers. It made you doubt that the good guys could ever win....but it also made the fact that they won sort of unrealistic, mainly because...besides one nasty massacre in the dudes lab...the insta poofing guns power sort of falls to the wayside....like "LOOK HOW EVIL THESE ARE! But we may as well have used guns because the guns seem to be doing just as much".

I DID love the fact that they incorporated Stark Industries into the whole movie, it tied together a few lose ends in the Iron man movies. I found that awesome, especially since Iron Man is my favorite of these series.

Anyway, if you go to see it STAY until after ALL of the credits have rolled. There is an extra little tidbit right at the end that you don't want to miss!

I saw the advertisements for it. It's a new thing for AMC, looks interesting.

There was a Cinema and Drafthouse just outside of DC years ago. It was awesome. Comfortable chairs, food, drinks, waitresses and a big screen theater. It's been my favorite way to see movies since I was a teen.
Nope. Nope. Nevermind.

Captain 'America'....pffft.

Over here, we'd have a version called 'Private England' and he'd STILL kick your Captain's arse.

There. I said it.

I seen it, it was amazingly good I thought, right there on par with the first Iron Man.

Very good.
Fantasies and delusions help the mind therapeutically to cope with reality when it knows your ass is thoroughly kicked.
Being in a helpful mood I will placate you and this fantastical daydream of yours by saying...

"go, go private whatever the hell your name was.'

PRIVATE ENGLAND: (as spoken through a mouth full of yellowed, crooked teeth) Ah, I'm frightfully sorry to trouble you, Red Skull, old chap, but would you mind terribly just surrendering so we can avoid any sort of messy physical conflicts? Gently now...thank you.

RED SKULL: @#$@#%$#@$%

PRIVATE ENGLAND: (eating fish and chips, adjusting his bowler derby hat) Oh, I DO wish you hadn't said that. Now I shall have to make you feel inferior with my smug sense of self importance.

RED SKULL: (takes out a shotgun and blows Private England out of his socks)
