I'm gonna 'out' myself here as someone who has been on the shit end of such an accusation. I am Judas, Klohkahn Dagger. Why am I now Kylar? I am Kylar because some fucktard (now revealed in Ceri's post) thought it would be funny to tell people I was Ceri. You would not believe, despite previous posts and conversations to the contrary, how many people were IM'ing Judas to ask 'are you really Ceri from the Gorums?' Of course, this wound me up, people actually adjusted how they interacted with me in roleplay because they couldn't decide if I was or wasn't. Two years of roleplay as an Assassin went up in a puff of smoke, because people are so fucking shallow minded. Judas is ruined because of some spiteful accusations from a very juvenile delinquent and now I have deleted everyone off my buddy list and 'gone to ground'.

So I say to all of you; 'think before you make such claims. They can be damaging for all involved'. Judas was a well established Black Caste who had respect. Now he is nothing; a puppet with no strings.

Wow Judas, I never heard any of that! Or if I did, I never believed it or gave it any thought. Let's see, the only thing that I ever heard is that you are incredibly sexy, well endowed, rich, and have a great voice…wait a sec…YOU told me that! Nevermind….

All kidding aside, it is your second life, do with it what you will. ( I find Kylar kinda sexy too, but that is just between you and I)

Women play sexy-as-hell male characters. In fact, when I find my fancies tickled by an awesome male character, my next inclination is: "...wait a second." Too good to be true, you know? Those awesome avatars. How they actually change clothes sometimes. And oh gosh, after a round of amazing sex they'll go shopping with you. His focus is usually on the woman in the scene. He knows how to be mean. Not assholish necessarily, but cold. He can tell a woman to go away. He can detect those female mind games that run under a real man's radar like a dog whistle and cuts them short. He'll adjust his nuts and pee off the edges of things; the twig & berries are new and fascinating for him.

Did I mention he'll have sex with you? This is a modern concept. Our real guys are tired of the sex. They've done it upside down and sideways a hundred times and found out it's not really about them, it's about some female hierarchy and it takes hours and they're tired of it. They don't even entertain the first line of communication with a slave because they know everything in the maze of interaction must lead to poseballs or the girl's going to be annoyed; plus, they've seen it all, we all look alike, and we're tiring. Females running a male character will screw everything in the sim and leave each girl feeling like special little gooey puddles. A good-looking new male avatar actually talking to slaves is a giveaway. Female-run male avatars know how to do the little things, those details RL men aren't into: the hand signals, the blanket thrown over the slave, the way to sweet talk a free woman out of her dress and leave her wishing she didn't have to put it back on again.

Of course, their posts might take longer. They're poring over the pronouns in notepad, if they're good. They might disappear quickly because their slave alt's story picked back up again. They won't talk OOC much, and when they do, they'll sound curt, dry and standoffish, even if all you're doing is sending them a funny youtube. Their interaction with other men is rare; they're afraid of being found out. They'll have something in their profiles about not wanting to fight, or how they're there to roleplay.

Many of my greatest stories have come about because of these awesome women who run male avatars. Thank you, all of you, who do it. There's an imbalance on SL Gor that these women help to fix.

Do they do it better than RL men? Not a chance. That energy thing Targ was talking about is real and you all feel it or you wouldn't care about roleplay so much. I don't do OOC sexytime with anyone, but there is something tangibly different about a male-run male avatar. I don't have the words for it, but it's there.

And everyone should be able to play whatever they want without worry or drama.

The problem with generalisations or 'thoughts about gender' is that there only needs to be one that makes the difference or exception.

Why would a handsome avi or one that gives attention to little things indicate it is a female playing ? Why would a male that is interested in how he is dressed might be too ?

I have some good friends who are very much men and they like shopping more than I do ... They change clothes more than I do ... and I think they are far more capable of talking a woman out of her dress than I do ... :hrm:

But I know we all have those thoughts ... in one way or an other but they can be pretty ugly when one starts to talk about it and before you know it at the end of the evening that person ... has a label that doesn't come off any more.

Shoot, Crow, you have a point there. I don't mean for anybody to go accusing and gossiping and whatever, I mean, come on. Don't label without proof and don't gossip about it. And of course every awesome guy can say "Hey! I pee off the sides of things!" or "I love to shop!" and of course I'm not 100% saying anything. It isn't a black and white thing. It's a grouping of things that make you go hmm.

Believe it or not,the very same people who created/spread this rumor about me,do in fact believe that RL females should not be able to roleplay as assassins, even if their character is a male and roleplayed in as manly a way as any other. They've even gone so far as to suggest that we demand people to voice/webcam verify before they can begin training in the black caste...to me this is purely ridiculous and a somewhat disturbing way to police a restriction that shouldn't even exist...my opinion anyways.

I agree completely with everything I have highlighted in bold. I think there's absolutely nothing wrong with females playing the role of a male assassin. The only time I would draw the line is in terms of RP consensual partnership, where a FW or slave (Kajirus or Kajira) has to become a companion with someone who expects an honest female to male relationship. If the two are in agreement that they would like to share a closer RP relationship with each other, I see no problem making sure the other person is female or male.

Personally, it does not matter to me at all who is controlling the character, as long at the character is RP'd in a appropriate Gorean manner. What gender you are in RL has little bearing on how you play your character, as Snow and Crow have proven for years.
Throughout SL we have women playing Warriors, Assassins and many other male avatars, just like how we have men playing panthers, kajira and free women. If your strictly staying IC for roleplay gender of the RL person should never get involved.
