There is a little less glitter in SL tonight…

The moons of Gor will never shine as brightly, the music will never sound as sweet.
Submission was wrapped in silks for a while, while kneeling at His feet.
The laughter will not come as easy, the tears seem to fall too well,
And while she rests so quietly, so many are left but a shell.
She touched all those around her, her zest for life did astound,
It was clear when she was giving, all of life was unbound.
I must admit my heart is heavy, so heavy it feels it might break,
I find myself sitting… wondering, did i give or only take?
Gor will never shine without talena, a Master will never be the same..
Isn’t it funny as we sit here and cry, yet some call this “just a game?”
The lives we get the chance to touch, yet we pass by with only a glare,
A few harsh words for laughters sake, things go beyond repair.
So i challenge myself from this day forth, to touch all those souls i pass
Not for fame or glory, but for one little dark haired lass.
She was someone who called me friend. Someone who had my heart…
Someone who gave ME her all from the very start.
Yes i am just a slave girl, one most seem to loathe or hate,
And tonight i sit here empty… trying to relate,
How someone across the world could touch my heart so deep.
In this world of make believe, I watch the darkness creep.
Consuming every pixel, conveying my dismay…
This is Gor for me, the day talena went away.

Talena Ember -
You will never be forgotten, and You are already missed so deeply. Thank you for touching my life.

Words that are written from the heart
We might all know them, live them, breath them
Some might experience them from the very start.

Some tell the stories of those that touched us so deeply
might whisper them to those that wish to hear
we all although some might not admit still cary them with tears.

When a heart capable for loving
embracing those that might not be here
will always carry the memory that will never fade.

So bless those that wear the burden off regret
bless those that will not forget.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, Twist. This is something near and dear to my heart that my family is often comforted by when we lose someone we love.

Prime Bbcode Spoiler Show Prime Bbcode Spoiler:
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end
He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years
For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not how much we own;
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard.
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what’s true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life’s actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

We of Tancred's attended her services and I doubt there was a dry eye.

I pray for comfort for those of you that knew her and I am sure she truly is dancing in a better place and healthy.

I was at the Memorial Service yesterday, and saw how so people, from all over Gor, had come to remember Talena. All those who spoke did so in a very moving and heartfelt way. She was very much loved, and our world and the real world are so much the poorer today for her passing.

Sadly, in my role, I have attended far too many memorial services. One would be far too many. But few were as moving as Talena’s. She inspired a great deal of love in a great many hearts.

Talena was taken from us by cancer, and can I just say that we, as Goreans, are fighting back hard against this terrible disease through Relay For Life. But RFL needs help. So could you give some of your online time to it? Membership of the Gorean RFL group is open, so please ask any member if you wish to join (if you don’t know a member, you can ask Kaiila Mahoney, the Group Leader, or even me, Willow Jenipe – please send me a NC as my IMs are always capped).

My very deepest sympathies go to all those who knew, and loved, Talena.

Actually it's open invite. We are looking for sim's that are interested in planning events to help raise money. I will do another post about it as we grow closer. March 12 is the kick off.

Thank you Willow for posting this.
