I think it does help to be able to build, The only thing that limits me personally is lack of textures (which i suppose could be solved) but it seems alot of people reguard it at as a pointless role. Same for alot of castes really. So maybe some encouragement should be made to have roleplay builders. I mean after all it just adds to the atmosphere.

Yep, I'm in the builder's Caste. But yes you are right, caste members are far and few in between. do I do OOC buildings, of course, but in my RP role, Im an extremely arrogant, high nosed, high casted taharian freeman raised in Ar. and I do try to break from building to do a little rp, Im always fussing over draftings, or crunching numbers for specs, building mantainece. good fun

My free companion, Bryantt, is of the builder caste and he is also Admin of Tancred's Landing. My kajirus was of builder caste before he became enslaved (sentenced to enslavement for trying to steal two slaves). Maverick and I made an auction block together for builder role play. It is scripted so that you work on it by sitting on a hammer or saw poseball. Thy are animated and have sounds, and you wear a hammer or saw it gives you. Over time, the auction block rezzes in different stages of completion, til in the end you have a completed auction block. You could use it to simulate building anything and just replace the auction block with your completed build.

Maverick also made an architect's table and board which are also animated. The architect examines a blueprint on the table, then turns to study the board, and then turns again to shout out directions (a series of linked animations for a total of 90 seconds of animation). He also made scaffolding, which I am not sure he put out for sale. You can always IM him in game to ask him about that, Maverick Schism.

I encourage content creators to make more things to assist builders in their role play. There are many kinds of builders. They would include the construction trades of course, but also inventors, scientists, technicians, engineers, repairmen, etc. We had wanted to do a role play around plans for a sewer system being stolen, which would have permitted enemies access to anywhere in the town through the sewer system. We never found anyone to be the villain who stole the plans though
