Same here, really. Argo was okay. Not a bad flick. But in no way great or novel. I am sure that if it had not been based on real events, and directed by and starring Ben Affleck it would not have been more than a blib on anyone's radar.

Life of Pie didn't do anything for me. Impressive visuals, but that was all, really.

Man, I really loved Life of Pi. I don't know - something about it really got me when it comes down to "how we react to two very different stories of one event".

Well, with a flick like that, I guess it really depends on the person. We all have different things that make something resonate, I guess. I even managed to enjoy watching 'Waterworld', I admit. :spittake:

The Last Airbender, 13 Assassins, Centurion, Agora, and Conan were enjoyable.

Robert Howard also created the character Solomon Kane, which made a decent fantasy/action flick.

Ender's Game was good.

The new Thor and Man of Steel were entertaining.

This post rocks Garian. I had forgotten all about two of these that I really wanted to see.

Valhalla Rising actually had me pull out my hair. Half an hour of silent boat-tripping just drove me fucking insane.

If your protagonist is a mute with only one eye you better half one hell of a story but somehow that film just fell completely flat.

And that's coming from someone who actually enjoys Mads Mikkelsen as an actor a big deal.

The slow cinematography with Valhalla Rising seemed to work for it, perhaps more if in the mood for that.

Thor was quite good.

I thought Superman was ok. Not really epic, but OK. I enjoyed the gameish speed to slowmo hits. Was well replicated.

Dredd was fantastic, slow to see this one. Was super happy I did.

Argo was interesting, and I was excited at points, made me laugh. But it wasn't "ZOMG" good.

Elysium was solid. I would watch it again, and that's rare.

I downloaded Skyfall recently, to watch it again. It made up for the last Bond - which, IMHO, was horrible. Skyfall was engaging and the enemy was much better.

The Hobbit pissed me off. It was a good story, but its just a money pit.

I tried watching Pain and Gain and eventually had to turn it off. I might try to pick it up again when I get in the mood.

Oblivion was much the same - just got bored of watching it.

Pacific Rim is probably my favorite movie from the last year. There are just too many cool things about that movie. Even the holes in the plot and the horrible acting on the part of that Mori character. It was just too pretty and a complete eyegasm.

Fast and The Furious 6. - Really? The plane scene? Really? Seriously? Just too many stupid moments and not enough racing. I loved Tokyo and I liked the original. I felt like there was a lot more love towards the cars and showcased modding. Going to be interesting to see what they do now that Walker has died.

Star Trek Into Darkness - pretty epic. Good Villain, good story, eyegasm...another one that sits on repeat on my TV.

Iron Man 3 - No suit all movie, then every suit ever made at the end? It was funny - but no where near the caliber of the other two movies. I didn't really like it much at all.

Red 2 - It was solid. I enjoyed it. I did download it, but I haven't watched it again. It wasn't anything to sing about, but a good way to pass some time.
