I hope you won't tell your Daddy. Remember - my Daddy can still beat up your Daddy

rarely, if ever do i respond to this kind of thing or slap back on these forums... normally, i will not take the bait... alright, i’ll bite this time... my friend had a little dog that would constantly snarl and nip at my boyfriend’s ankles. then one day, he bent over and picked it up by the scruff and said, 'ok, little fellow, enough is enough,' and tossed him into the backyard.

yes, i do refer to my father as daddy. what difference does it make? deal with it.

when i share things about my life here, i often do it in the context of the topic and theme. i use bits and pieces of my life as allegories for the discussion. for example, my experiences surfing were used as an allegory for the cyclical nature of the universe. the german word for allegory is allegorie. another way of putting it in german is sinnbild. an allegory is a way of using a story or image to represent or symbolize ideas and concepts as in what i wrote here:

i’m a surfer girl and these have been my my observations and meditations when i hit the waves with my shortboard at dawn and ride the rails. the nature of our reality, this universe, is ebb and flow, wave after wave, cyclical...

rail to rail surfing (one edge to the other), following the ebb and flow of steel blue waves at dawn, i feel the primal connection and see things on the most basest of levels and i’m at peace.

i spent a lot of time putting together my ideas of what the vikings really looked like on the previous page... my observations on the nature of the universe, space and time... shared some cool videos... you could have debated any of that, and yet, out of all of that, you zeroed in on and chose: ‘daddy’ ... ‘my daddy’s movie library...’ and ‘surfer girl’.

the degree of pettiness, jealousy, back-biting, meanness and tomes and tomes of attacks or self-defending complete with flow charts and mean spirited videos and pan-slamming, face-palm emoticons that i observe regularly posted here astounds me. what a waste of time and creativity. and yes, like north korea where they go after stupid shit little things and blow them up into all out nuclear war talk. sure wouldn’t want to be the green or red pen on these forums. the mods and admins here have my complete sympathy and total respect.

ok back on topic... ummm... where was i?... ahhh... forget it. if you just stumbled onto this thread, please see my long-winded post on the previous page that started all this here:

http://goreanforums.net/viewtopic.php?f=108&t=7666&start=110#p184236

this isn’t scientific but i leave you with these two quotes. the first has a sorta quantum feel to it:

The universe is a continuous web. Touch it at any point and the whole web quivers.
~Stanley Kunitz

and this one just feels hopeful and good:

Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.

@Danika I will probably get my hand slapped for saying this but when I read your posts I really think you are a bit...full of shit. Maybe I have been on the net too long and have become jaded. But when I hear someone talk about their fabulous real life of surfing, moving making, etc then at the same time they talk about owning a sim which I think would also take up a lot of time, I think they have one foot in the doorway of non reality.

one of the biggest issues i see with organized religion is how selective people are about what they choose to affirm their faith. i had a discussion once with a born again Christian who said everything in the bible was the word of god. i said, maybe it's men writing various books claiming to speak for god. she said no, it's the word of god. so i said, noah was accidentally found laying drunk and naked in bed by one of his sons. noah gouged his son's eyes out for seeing him naked. and it was all good as far as the bible was concerned. does that mean it's ok to gouge your child's eye out if they see you naked? she argued, no it wasn't in her bible. ahh, i said, not in your new Christian edition, and you see, your bible text has been edited and sanitized by men. the original text has it. here, let me show you. and is it ok to stone women for adultery? the bible says so. islam says the Qur'an is the direct word of god too. as for the king james version... well, it's funny how Christians are quick to call gay people sinners. but did you know king james was as queer as a nine dollar bill? yep, king james was very gay. in fact, he asked his subjects to call him queen james...

people are very selective in choosing their truths. they see what they want to see and discard the rest. and unfortunately, religious scriptures, tracts, are often framed to suit the political agendas of men in power. you can pretty much frame things anyway you like it to suit your agenda. people use religion to subjugate women in so many countries, force underaged women into marriages under the threat of beatings and death.

this was a very good scene from 'the last temptation of Christ' that sums up what i'm saying here:

An excellent idea! I believe limiting the telling of all the bs stories to you will work well.
