So no need for more bombast or bombs exploding ;) The first verse of the song does not sound better - it sounds like mindless nationalism, brutality, war, genocide, destruction and suffering.

So humorless :P

Then I am humorless too. Will your next song be "Die Fahne hoch die Reihen fest geschlossen" because the Germans have such good defense?

No, because the Horst-Wessel Lied was made especially for the Nazi party. The first stanza of the Deutschlandlied goes back to the holy roman empire, and used as an anthem for the Weimar republic. False analogy.

It's been ages since I posted here. Hope you folks are doing alright and keep chewing heads off, as you should.

This post is dedicated to Pelo and sorry for replying this late.

I also think Argentina played well throughout the championship, but hey, Germany was great and the favorite. Brazil was a true shame, and that is what made me the happiest  . For those who do not know, Argentina-Brazil share a nasty rivalry, which usually happens between neighboring countries that share a skill for something.

The lyrics of the song posted here by someone before, translates like this:

"Brazil, tell me how it feels
to have daddy back home.
I swear that no matter how many years pass,
we will never forget,
how Diego dribbled all of you, (Maradona)
how Cani 'vaccinated' you (Caniggia)
and how you still cry since Italy 90.

You will see Messi,
how he will bring us the cup.

Maradona is bigger than Pelé"

Con amor and without (much) bitterness,

Hilda :lips:

Sadly, not even this helped us.

Dear Hilda

Yes i cried too during the final. However it was an impressive World Cup for us (Argentina), and yes, he helped a lot, after all I am sure his prayers got us through the championship all the way to the final (and the rest I think was up to us)

You got a point, Jacko.

And as we told the English in Mexico 1986: the goal we scored was not Diego's hand, but God's. They failed to believe us, so we got ourselves a pope, hm?
