And if the 'consider adoption' argument is being made by the religious - maybe they could try reconsidering their stance on permitting gay couples to adopt the neglected and abandoned children of heterosexual people, before they suggest that adoption is the way to go.

Oor made this attack statment against people who made believe in God and so I responded to her bullshit Try reading what people say before opening your mouths

I suggested that someone advocating adoption as a way of avoiding abortion, while simultaneously advocating for a reduction in the number of potential adoptions, might want to reconsider their stance.

Could you point out how this constitutes an attack?

Because you assume just because someone believes in God and not abortion MUST hate gays, well your wrong and frankly insulting anyone of faith with your rhetoric

And as I was the one advocating adoption NOT abortion and neither do I hate Gays NOR mentioned having to see a faith based counselor I take it as a personal attack that you accused of such but then I dont expect much from people like you

The most vocal anti-gay people tend to claim to be highly religious folks. Do they represent the whole of religious thought? No more than the Wahabists represent all of Islam.
Let me give you some advice bastard. Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you.

I don't think religious people - even those who oppose gay marriage and adoption - necessarily hate gays. But most large religious groups that oppose abortion also oppose gay marriage and adoption rights. This is fact - and not my doing.

My point was not "OMG EVUL RELIGION!" - it was to point out, relevant to the discussion, that certain attitudes (opposing gay adoption) are a contributing factor to the reason that adoption is not a viable option to end abortion. And that holding both stances - adoption as an alternative to abortion AND 'gay people shouldn't adopt' - are incompatible as policy. Well. Workable policy, at least.

Actually the reason idiots claim to be against gay adoption is they are afraid the kids will catch gay, TO associate them with religion just because they claim to be it. Is no different than when someone claims a Sim is BtB Gor just because they dont allow female fighters when infact they are nothing of the sort because of all the other mistakes they make

Not all people against gay adoption are against it because of homophobia or because they think that kids will turn out gay.

The majority of people who oppose gay adoption self-identify as religious. If that's the way they label themselves, it's not my place to 'test' whether it's true.

To say any different is disingenuous.

I can only think of religious reasons why one would think it would be a bad idea to have gay adoptions. Being that we have a separation of church and state I don't know why those reasons have any value today but they still do for some reason.

I guess.... I guess just like most things in this nation if you have the majority you can take away the rights of the minority correct or not.

The next challenge to this law was rebuffed but that is more on a technicality and not on the substance of the law. It seems that some of the states have brought suit challenging the mandate that they include birth control in their plans. The judges dismissed their claims saying that basically they had to apply for an exception from the requirement and than be forced to provide it before bringing the lawsuit. So will have to wait and see how this line of challenge will go later when it has been implemented.
